Fiscal Responsibility

I have never voted for a tax increase. As a county, we have maintained the lowest tax rate in the state at .92 (SmartAssetTM). Through various initiatives I have helped to save the county hundreds of thousands of dollars.

One of the first things I did as a commissioner was remove myself from the tax appeals board. I believe this is a way of increasing transparency by having a member of the public serve in my place. I will continue to bring this philosophy to the office of County Commissioner. Since being a Commissioner, I have traveled over 30,000 miles without accepting any reimbursement back from the county.
